Grand Blanc Living - Feature Article (click PDF)

Our mission

To provide the community a safe environment for dance and fitness that is supportive, well structured, and encourages giving back.

Our vision

To foster life-long relationships with the Studio 11 family and become a cornerstone of the Grand Blanc dance and fitness landscape.

Our history

Studio 11 was founded in 2015 by Sarah Harrison as the result of her passion for dance. Sarah has been dancing since she was three years old and when her dance studio closed in May 2015, she knew she had to keep the studio, its students, and its teachers intact. After several meetings and an outpouring of support she decided to move forward with starting Studio 11. One of her first tasks was finding the perfect studio space; it had to have ample space, great character, and be a focal point in Grand Blanc. Fate is a strange thing sometimes, after numerous searches, the perfect space next to Little Joe's became available, right in the heart of downtown.  The rich family atmosphere of Little Joe's coupled with a dance and fitness studio was the perfect pairing. Studio 11 has consistently grown over the last few years with a wide variety of dance offerings including: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and lyrical. In addition to our dance classes for students age 18 months through adult, we are also proud to offer adult fitness classes such as the incredibly popular Barre Intensity. Sarah and the rest of the Studio 11 instructors look forward to continue our growth and welcoming new students to our family!

What makes us unique?

High quality dance without the stress of competitions

We pride ourselves on taking quality dance VERY seriously. We are focused on technique and the growth of the individual to meet their maximum potential in a safe encouraging environment. Additionally we host an annual dance recital held at a local high school theater so that our students are able to show case their newly gained dance skills to choreographed music and movement.

Conservative dress code and costume choices

It is our belief that kids should be kids and our dress code and costume selections are aligned with this belief.

Leap 'N Learn (Informational flyer '.pdf')

For our students 18 months to about 7 years old, Leap 'N Learn is specifically designed to teach students to dance at their current level of mental, physical, emotional, and cognitive development. It gives children a strong foundation in dance while keeping the movement of a child's level so that they are always having fun and mastering new skills

Progressing Ballet Technique (https://pbt.dance/home/about)

For our older students, Progressing Ballet Technique is an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to improve strength and train muscle memory to achieve their personal best in classical ballet.

Cecchetti (https://www.cecchetti.org/about/)

For our older students, approximately 8 and up. Cecchetti is dedicated to maintaining the standards and method of ballet training established by Cav. Enrico Cecchetti. It uses his teaching and writings in a sequence of grades, carefully measured as to the degree of difficulty and physical development, and provides a system of accredited examinations to test the student’s proficiency within those grades.
